The preparations for the Animal Ambulance are in full swing!

After taking the first official steps - housing our team in the “Team Dierenhulp Westland eo” foundation, registration with the Chamber of Commerce, opening a green business bank account - we went straight ahead and we are between our daily work and animal campaigns. by, busy getting everything properly arranged for the animal ambulance!

And we now know one thing for sure... Starting up your own animal ambulance is a lot of paperwork! Not always fun, but very instructive and absolutely very important. Fortunately, we have a very enthusiastic and strong team, because sometimes all those letters and papers really get out of hand... But then there is always someone who says: "Come on, I'll find out" or "Give it, I'll do that". And of course we are ALWAYS happy with our team members, who all volunteer for the animals - and on this moments of commitment, we are even more so. There is nothing better than working together with all noses in the same direction and thus achieving our goal together: Improving animal welfare in the Westland!

We already have a lot on paper - from a policy plan to various protocols and permits, from an inventory of the materials we have at our disposal to what we will all still need... Education and courses have also been thought of and there are now a number of number of team members signed up for various (additional) training courses. Our volunteers will follow various courses where necessary - from Animal First Aid to Animal Ambulance Employee - so that we can get started well prepared and enthusiastic and know how to act to treat an animal in need. (even better) to help.

In addition, we have in mind how we will design our spaces in the new building as animal-friendly, sustainable, safe and hygienic as possible.

In short, we are working hard behind the scenes to make this great project a reality.

We can't wait for it to come!

Team Animal Actions Westland eo will expand in the future with... an Animal Ambulance!

The matching name of this service will be: Team Dierenambulance Westland

The Westland Animal Actions Team has been active for some time in the field of animal welfare in the Westland region. For example, we search for missing dogs on the spot, catch stray animals that need help, chip check found animals to reunite them with their owner as soon as possible and we hold chip check campaigns for dogs to underline the importance of chipping and correct registration. to bring attention.

Because a place has become available for an animal ambulance service in the future Westland Animal Shelter Center (DOCW) and we would like to develop further, we have been able to join this initiative in mutual consultation. A unique opportunity!

That is why we will be working hard in the coming period to realize the ambulance service, so that animal welfare in the Westland will soon be guaranteed 24/7 from the DOCW.

The DOCW will be built on Vierijzer, near the police station in Naaldwijk.

The following will be established at this location:

Animal ambulance of Team Dierenhulp Westland eo that will drive 24/7 in the Westland region.

Hedgehog shelter 'Het Stekeltje', where hedgehogs in need are cared for until they can return to nature.

Rabbit and Rodent shelter (under investigation) where these animals can stay until a new owner comes.

Bird sanctuary 'De Wulp', which will only have an exit aviary, where almost recovered birds will stay until they can be released.

Emergency shelter for all types of domestic, hobby and wild animals encountered, before they are returned to the owner or proceeded to a specialist shelter.

We are very pleased with this new collaboration! Until then, you can follow our actions on our Facebook page:
