It's every owner's nightmare - something happens that puts your dog out of sight and you can't find it again. There you are, alone, or at most with a few people. Where do you start?
At such a moment, our search team can offer a solution.
We are ready asap for support and with help on location. Our working area is the municipality of Westland and Hoek van Holland.

Help with missing cats
Both cats that are used to being outside and escaped indoor cats can go missing. Although most find their home again, this does not always happen immediately. Has your cat been away for a while and are you worried? In the Westland region, our team can provide support, think along and offer concrete help in the search by deploying volunteers and materials.

Catching needy (wild) animals
- A dog runs through the streets and can't catch it.
- A feral stray cat has been a nuisance in the neighborhood for a while. - Someone's tame bird has escaped and is in a tree.
- A wild bunny is spotted in a residential area.
- An injured water bird needs help.
- An animal looks sick, but does not let itself be caught.

Chip check on found animals
There's been a cat in the neighborhood for a while and no one knows him. Is it just a new neighborhood resident or is he lost?
You are somewhere and a dog approaches, the owner is nowhere to be seen, what now? Let us know; our team members can quickly be on site in the Westland region to make a possible request. chip and immediately trace the owner.

"Yeah, my dog's chip is registered properly!"
Unfortunately, it often turns out that something is wrong with the chip registration; the chip is still on the breeder, on the previous owner, on an old address or telephone number, or the chip is not even registered at all ("The vet did that, right?"). That makes a reunion extra difficult!
To draw attention to the importance of chipping and properly registering dogs (and cats), we are holding chip check campaigns at various locations, where people can have their dogs scanned for free and receive help if something is not right. (because of Covid-19 this activity is temporarily stopped) Do you know a nice location or event in the Westland region?
Find out unregistered chip
It often happens that a found cat or dog is chipped, but not registered. At such a moment the chip is not much use - it is only a number, without further data and the owner cannot be found (immediately). For us it doesn't stop there! We have various options for finding an owner, whether it concerns a Dutch, European or International chip. Are you a private individual or an organization that does not get any further with information or where there is no time for an extensive search?

animal ambulance
At the moment, Westland is dependent on an external animal ambulance. As a foundation, we are busy setting up our own Animal Ambulance Service! Team Dierenambulance Westland will turn out 24/7 from the Westland itself and have a central emergency shelter at the Vierpoot, border Naaldwijk. This is where the Westland Animal Shelter Center will be located, of which our foundation can rent a part.

As soon as our own animal ambulance service becomes active, Team Animal Care will also start. These volunteers will take care of the animals that are temporarily in the (emergency) shelter of our Animal Ambulance with attention and expertise.
